domestic removals

overseas

Few things in life are as stressful as moving home and it’s no wonder those pressures can intensify when it involves moving to another country.

Crutch Brothers can move anything anywhere, be it your household possessions or fine art or china.

If you’re moving to another Continent, it is very likely that your goods will be packed into a 20 or 40 ft shipping container and journey by sea. It is imperative therefore, that your possessions are protectively wrapped and the container is professionally loaded to limit any movement and consequent damage.

For smaller shipments, consignments can be combined with others to gain economies of scale. This method is called groupage and is available to many destinations. The departure and expected arrival dates are usually influenced by the availability of sufficient volume to fill the container.

We also run vehicles and operate a similar groupage system to Europe and can help you to plan ahead by outlining the removal plan and setting out what we will do and when we will do it.

We will tell you when to expect the shipment to leave. We will set out typical pre-shipment delays, the usual voyage time in-transit, what delays you might expect at destination whilst waiting for the shipment to be released by the Customs authorities and delivered to you.

Sending goods by air is fast, but can be much more expensive than sea shipment. Unlike a sea shipment where the cost is determined on the volume, air transport is calculated on a more complex basis of weight and volume. Please ask for more information.

When your goods arrive at destination, our Destination Partner will take over. They will usually organise Customs Clearance formalities on your behalf, transfer the goods from the port or terminal of arrival to your new home, or via their warehouse, deliver and unwrap the goods. If you require storage at destination, our partner can provide this too.
